Please join us in welcoming the newest member of the farm team, Chef Leslie Broadbent. On weekends throughout the season, Chef Les will be sampling quick and easy recipe ideas for us right here at the market. He comes to us with a wealth of experience. Originally from England, he did a 4 year apprenticeship in a small 3 star country hotel in the Yorkshire dales. He then went to the Leeds College of Food Technology for four years of training and apprenticeship. He arrived in Canada in 1977, where he began in Stratford, Ontario working for 4 years at 2 restaurants; The Church Restaurant and Rundles Restaurant. (fine dining). He later owned a restaurant for 5 years in Markham, Ont. called Mainstreet. (mainly Italian food), followed by another from 1984 to 2010 called The Corner House on main street in Stouffville Ont. (fine dining). We’re excited to have Chef Les with us, and can’t wait to see what he cooks up for us!
