Asparagus (early May - end June) Fresh picked daily
The first taste of spring veggies! Asparagus is a nutrient-dense food which is high in folic acid and is a good source of potassium, fiber, vitamin B6, vitamins A and C, and thiamin. We have been growing asparagus since 1982 and are one of the larger asparagus farms in Ontario. We sell two grades of asparagus. #1 consists of straight spears, uniform in size, with compact tips. #2 asparagus has all the same flavour and freshness as #1, only the spears may be either variable in size, slightly bent or have tips slightly open. Which ever grade you choose you can count on getting delicious fresh asparagus at Barrie Hill Farms.
